I’m going back over Ruby enumerable methods and seeing select, filter, collect, map, but in Rails it seems 99% of the time it’s .find(params[:id]).
Is there anywhere you’d use the more exotic methods?

@GonorthJ I used to work with NHK and NHK World on web/promotional content for their programmes - basically a lot of stories or themes are reused from the original JP content, so the highlights of the show are just translated literally, with no cultural translation.

@Gaijinotousan Probably not a language issue but a design issue. The user should understand first that it has two modes, for light (8 kg) and heavy (22 kg) loads, then the additional option for the super clean/antibacterial wash.
It’s hard to understand because it’s chaos in design terms.

@Gaijinotousan Parties have to select or endorse candidates, so the candidates that reach the ballot are basically hand picked by the old boys club in the major parties. Very few independents as a result.

@kepano @MieleUSA Mine came with the house I bought and we (family of 4) use it every day here in Japan, where we use 3-4 items of tableware each per meal. Crushing that cost per use, probably down to a few cents per wash.
