Liked a lot of the first episode of The Ghost in The Shell, but it's going to be interesting seeing how fans of either the movies or the anime series will react to this version because it is a sharp contrast. Really captures the feel of an 80s series with current animation.

The 1st episode of Ghost in the Shell was so, so good! Really cool to see the original manga brought to life this way which feels pretty much unchanged. Break neck pace and dialog heavy, not sure how it'll go for newcomers though

“And I actually had a moment with him at his first wardrobe fitting because we’d been fitting all of the supporting cast, all the guys who play his crew, and some younger actors and everything.”

“And they’d all come in and they’ve all got tattoos, which is a nightmare for a period film.”

“It means hours in makeup, because you have to cover all that up, and then put the costume on, and then rain and wind, and, you know, costume will rub it away.”

“And I, you know, and I thought, okay, well, he is, you know, he takes his shirt off for the fitting, and he’s got a fucking tattoo.”

“And I was like, ‘Not you as well, like what?’”

“And it was, you know, a very small, tasteful tattoo, you know, the name of his children and all that.”

“And he said to me, ‘Well, in order to be perfectly honest, I thought my bare bicep days were over.’”
