@jasonrantz@grok please weigh in here. Is this true? The house majority leader - the one who orchestrates legislative processes and our budget in Washington State??
@elonmusk Hey Elon - when are you going to make a gas or hybrid powered car? The demand will be off the charts. They will sell before they are built for a decade or more.
Your voting base would rather you focus on the Seattle Crime problem where we are well more than double the national average for crime per capita (source; FBI's Uniform Crime Reporting (UCR) Program, Table 8 data). We don’t care about left vs right when it comes to safety in our city. Drop your party loyalty (which in this case is at our expense) and talk with the feds to see if you can find a way that they could actually help.
In memory of Charlie, I urge every major American university, especially the Ivy League and New England’s small liberal arts colleges, to invite conservative speakers to their campuses and to welcome them. Academia cannot be a no go zone for conservatives. Charlie would welcome this.
It will help heal the country if the liberal left that dominates colleges actively reaches out and peacefully welcomes the right.
Yes, I have seen this. Very well done inspirational video, which is important. But it assumes we have confidence in the athletic leadership. Much of the damage from the Pac12 debacle was self inflicted by our University leaders. 10 of the other schools saw it coming and had a path. The fear is we will become a midwest caliber team because the current leadership put us here. The video doesn’t address the basic elements of a vision/plan i.e., who (current leaders speaking up and on the same page or new ones brought in), what is the goal (e.g., compete at a top 20 level or ?), how (e.g., our approach to deal with NIL and transfer portal, change always brings opportunity and here is what we see or ?). These are the things that will tap into our unique Alumni/University bond and likely produce millions. People will be reluctant to donate if they fear their money will not be put to good use. Clearly, through the Pac12 demise it wasn’t. People just want to see there is a plan and leadership talent to lead us out of how far we have fallen. Lacking that, the base will put their money to other good causes where that confidence exists.
Donations will grow during match campaigns and losses will have some negative impact. But a few losses are not what is driving the magnitude of the current fund raising/ticket sales shortfall. A level that has heightened the anxiety in the Athletic Department. The thing to look at is sustained year to year growth. Football ticket sales were down 30% in the first year our schedule was post Pac12 and with mostly Mountain West teams. Losses did not play a role in that down turn. A sense of loosing our ability to be a top 20 team while playing against midwest caliber programs is what drove that. A sense that could be turned around by a leader with a communicated vision and plan. Just telling the base that they are fair weather and they need to step it up is an approach that has never met the goal in any sizable fund raising endeavor. Cougs have a bond with their University like no other. It needs to be tapped into appropriately.
I saw how you lead WSU through the transition of the demise of the PAC12. No contingency plan. Completely surprised. U of A, ASU, Colorado, Utah all saw it coming and worked their plan B. WSU could have been in the Big12 if you had been doing your job. And now you have failed to lead us out of the carnage that resulted. You became determined to “right size” the football program resulting in the loss of our coach and players. We are now destined to be a mid level Mountain West caliber team. How WSU navigates transitions under your leadership certainly should be studied.
@GregWWoods@PapaThrow@bkransford I think what Jack is saying is that by the 3rd week of Dec it was quite clear what an absolutely amazing job Coach Dickert has done. Here we are one month later and SR decides it’s finally worth reporting on - well past when other college football media had made note of it.
@MommaFootball97@CougfanCOM Through the football venue, you represented so well every WSU Mom who has hope for their kid in college. Well done Amy - the Cougar Nation thanks you! Now its time for the Next Mom Up!
@wsferries The inability to maintain schedule due to maintenance issues and continuous staffing shortfalls are clear warning signs that the WSF system is not safe. More dangerous mishaps like what happened today to the Walla Walla will occur unless something is done @GovInslee
@NWSSeattle Your graphic on Twitter says its a 24 hour total. Even if I extend the NWS Seattle forecast out 48 hours its still not close. I also see that the NWS Seattle was just updated again at 2:20 with no change. People make important decisions based on your data in situations like this.
@NicoleArbour Literally the best summary of what the Biden administration and CDC have been saying about masking and the vaccine. Clearly, Arbour should replace Psaki.
