Before Ewan MCgregor made us all dream of going around the world with our adventure motorcycles, there was Ted Simon. Jupiter's Travel is THE #book that started it all: the tale of Ted's four years on a Triumph Tiger 500 around the world, from 1973 to 1977. #books#travel#moto
Elspeth Beard started her round-the-world #moto trip in 1982. This type of #riding wasn't a thing yet, and even less so for a #woman. Elspeth recently released a #book to talk about her #adventure. Here is the first part of a long account of her #travels. https://t.co/ZEVWwFxQuh

It’s one thing to see, another to have time to react. No tailgating. When riding in town, at speeds under 40 mph, keep a 2-second gap between you and the car in front. When riding faster on the open road, you should adjust your gap to 3 or more seconds, depending on your speed.

The front brake on your motorcycle can supply as much as 70% or more of stopping power, so use that front brake when you want to slow down. In general, always apply front and rear brakes at the same time. And practice braking. You can always get better at it.
