SmoothyApp 2.0 is out on Mac + Windows. Still free, still no account.
What I'm most excited about:
• AutoMulticam on duplicated timelines, keeps your effects and keyframes
• Captions in 99 languages, Arabic too
• Background removal and 2×/4× upscaling, on your computer
• Stock footage and music right inside the app
Studio AI is optional.

free audio tools I actually use: audacity for noise reduction, fairlight (it's in free resolve) for mixing, freesound and pixabay for sound effects. check every sound's licence and credit when it asks. which free tool did I miss?
"small change" = price it anyway. I add a $20 line item even when it's tiny. clients learn what changes cost, and the next "quick tweak" gets a lot more thought. who else did free "small changes" for weeks? 🙋
save a voice from a noisy café recording. smoothy's audio cleanup splits it into speech and music, and the noise stays with the music. flip to enhanced and the speech gets cleaned. it runs on my computer, nothing uploaded, no credits, no account. what's the worst audio a client ever sent you?
free editing helpers that don't need an account are rare. smoothy's stock footage, audio library and cutout tool are free, no account, in premiere or resolve. AI stuff is optional, you can ignore it.
eye tip for editors: every 20 minutes, look at something about 20 feet (6 m) away for 20 seconds. easiest way to remember: a 20 min timer next to the timeline. who else ends the day with dry, burning eyes? 🙋
generative extend in premiere = up to 2s extra video or 10s audio, one end of the clip at a time. it needs internet and credits, so I only use it to save a transition, not as my plan.
free motion option if you can't afford after effects: cavalry is free with a canva account now, and blender does 2D/3D motion for $0. which one are you learning?
