"Nobody doing NDC a favour. The NDC is doing Peter Obi a favour by granting him a platform. You cannot claim to support Peter Obi while at the same time disparaging me.”
-Senator Seriake Dickson, NDC National chairman.
Imagine, a bandit is to be set ablaze, asking to say his final words, but rather to repent to God almighty for the atrocities committed to the innocent citizens, he is calling his brethren’s to continue with the atrocities. How stubborn and wicked are these group of people!
🚨A suspected bandit was reportedly captured and pinned down by Nigerian soldiers, who were allegedly preparing to set him ablaze 😳🔥
The shocking part? He was seen crying and begging for forgiveness after allegedly terrorizing innocent people 🤧💔
This is the same Sardauna that Kwankwaso’s supporters are cursing just because they want to market Peter Obi for president in the North. Wonderful political suicide.
“I will work to get Bola Tinubu out of place because I think he’s bad news for Nigeria’s future. I am not saying only the Peoples Redemption Party can get Tinubu out of power, but we have a major contribution to make, and we’re looking for every legitimate opportunity to do so. We will defeat Tinubu by being better than him. He has done half of our work. He has messed up this country, he has made life miserable, more insecure, and Nigerians are desperately unhappy.” — Hakeem Baba-Ahmed, PRP national chairman
BREAKING: Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has asked President Bola Tinubu and the Kaduna State Governor, Senator Uba Sani, to immediately release former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai.
ADC After the Noise: The Movement Refused to Collapse
Some people thought ADC would collapse because a few confusionists left. They mistook noise for structure, entitlement for leadership, and personal drama for political weight.
But look at what is happening now.
Every single day, Nigerians are walking into ADC secretariats to obtain election forms. Aspirants are coming forward. Grassroots actors are organizing. Youths are showing interest. Women are stepping in. Local structures are waking up. The party they said would die is becoming more attractive to people who are tired of the old political prison.
That is the lesson many people missed.
ADC was never built around the ego of one man, one group, or one temporary political calculation. The movement is bigger than those who wanted to turn it into a private bargaining table. Once the confusionists left, the air became clearer. The people who remained now understand the mission better: organize, mobilize, contest, protect votes, and give Nigerians a credible platform in 2027.
This is why the daily rush for nomination forms matters. It is not just paperwork. It is proof of confidence. It is proof that Nigerians are no longer waiting for expired political structures to rescue them. It is proof that ordinary citizens, young aspirants, credible professionals, and grassroots leaders are beginning to see ADC as a serious vehicle for change.
APC thought hunger would silence Nigerians. PDP thought its old name would continue carrying opposition politics forever. NDC thought noise could replace structure. But ADC is showing something different: calm growth, quiet expansion, and serious political hunger from people who want a new direction.
The confusionists left.
The movement remained.
The secretariats are active.
The forms are moving.
The structure is growing.
And 2027 is beginning to look less predictable for those who thought Nigeria would remain trapped between failure and recycled excuses.
Empty Treasury, Heavy Borrowing, Luxury Spending: Obasanjo’s “Drunken Sailor” Warning Hits Hard
Sometimes, one phrase is enough to summarize the anger of a whole country.
The reported “drunken sailor” description hits because many Nigerians already feel the contradiction. This government and its defenders have repeatedly told citizens that the treasury was empty, that the economy was damaged, and that tough sacrifices were unavoidable. Yet, while ordinary Nigerians are being asked to tighten their belts, government spending continues to look too comfortable, too expensive, and too disconnected from the suffering on the streets.
That is where the anger comes from.
You cannot tell citizens that there is no money, then govern with the body language of abundance. You cannot ask the poor to endure hunger while political power still moves with luxury, long convoys, expensive offices, foreign trips, heavy borrowing, and elite comfort. If the treasury was truly empty, then leadership should have started with visible sacrifice from the top.
Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has already criticized Tinubu’s leadership, describing Nigeria as showing signs of a failing state and linking national decay to corruption, weak leadership, and bad governance. That criticism carries weight because it speaks directly to what Nigerians are living through: hardship, insecurity, division, and economic frustration.
Even Tinubu’s allies have used the “empty treasury” argument to justify borrowing and economic pressure. Former Ogun State Governor Olusegun Osoba defended borrowing by saying the previous administration left an empty treasury. But that argument creates a bigger question: if the treasury was empty, why is government not acting like a government in emergency mode?
This is the heart of the matter. Borrowing is not automatically wrong. Countries borrow. Governments borrow. But borrowing becomes politically offensive when citizens see no matching discipline, no visible national relief, no serious reduction in waste, and no improvement in their daily lives.
A government that borrows in the name of survival must not spend with the confidence of a billionaire at a party.
Nigerians are not angry because leaders are managing a difficult economy. Nigerians are angry because the pain is not shared equally. The poor are sacrificing. The middle class is shrinking. Small businesses are struggling. Food prices are punishing families. But the political class still behaves like hardship is only for voters.
That is why Obasanjo’s warning, whether one likes him or not, will resonate.
The issue is simple: if the treasury was empty, stop spending like it is overflowing.
In the name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful. A few hours ago, the Rt. Hon. Speaker of the 10th House of Representatives, Hon. Tajudeen Abbas GCON, announced my letter of resignation from the All Progressives Congress (APC) and my formal move to the African Democratic Congress (ADC) at plenary. I am now a member of the ADC, and I will be seeking re‑election to continue representing the good people of Kaduna North Federal Constituency on this platform.
I am joined in this new chapter by our respected elder, Hon. Engr. Suleiman Richifa, representing Soba, and my dear brother, Hon. Umar Ajilo, representing Makarfi/Kudan, who both defected from their previous parties to the African Democratic Congress. Together, we are building a home for progressive, people‑focused service.
This decision was not taken lightly. As a proud son of Mallam Nasir @elrufai, I am guided by courage, conviction, and the unshakable belief that our people deserve the very best. To the people of Kaduna North: our work continues, and it will not stop. We will never compromise on delivering quality representation. There is still so much to do.
By the grace of God, I will soon announce the ad hoc committee for the Primary Health Care initiative I unveiled last week. We will be equipping Primary Health Care Centres with medical supplies, starting with 1,000 syringes per PHC and other essential items. Phase I begins with two centres: Unguwar Sarki Ward and Badarawa/Malali Ward.
May Allah SWT continue to guide us as we serve the people. And may He bless Nigeria with the best leaders.
Signed
Hon. Mohammed Bello El-Rufai
