@jonnnnylingo I served there in '92-'94. I'm pretty certain that church building wasn't there back then! :-) And a sister Kofford just came home from HK this week to my ward in NC.
The Apex High School wrestling program has been incredible this season. We won our first men’s conference championship in school history! Incredible program and coaching staff! @apexcougarclub
Objectively, how do you defend this:
Miami (10–2)
– ESPN SOS: 45
– ESPN SOR: 14
– Did not play for a conference championship
– Losses: Two 8–4 teams (SMU, Louisville)
BYU (11–2)
– ESPN SOS: 22
– ESPN SOR: 9
– Played in the Big 12 championship
– Losses: No. 4 Texas Tech on the road & in the Big 12 title game
Notre Dame (10–2)
– ESPN SOS: 44
– ESPN SOR: 13
– Did not play for a conference championship
– Losses: Miami (who lost to two 8–4 teams) & No. 7 Texas A&M
My presentation at ACIP today about the childhood vaccine schedule. If you have an emotional, rather than intellectual, reaction to this presentation: vaccines, amen.
Why do we need the 1986 act if vaccines are so safe and effective? Why does a product need immunity if it doesn't cause harm? Why do products that have been on the market for decades, like the hepatitis B vaccine, still need immunity?
The thing that ultimately gets me is this: There have been 61 power teams to go 11-1 in the CFP era. Every other one has finished top 10 after the regular season. All but two were top 7.
What is the argument for BYU being uniquely unimpressive among that group? There isn't one.
The committee made it abundantly clear it’s not merit based. The playoffs is just the cool kids club and BYU isn’t perceived as a cool kid. ND and the SEC are the cool kids. The whole thing is a sham
Looking back at the LAST 30 YEARS, no 1-loss P4/P5 team has ever been ranked as low as BYU at #11 in the AP poll at the end of the regular season
All other year's lowest-ranked 1-loss teams ended with an AP ranking between #3-10, & there's a strong correlation between better AP ranking and better SOS... except for BYU, who showed better than average figures for all schedule strength data points, yet somehow received the lowest ranking on record
I utilized the weekly poll data from the College Poll Archive site and used the Colley Matrix for SOS data since it's the only one I could find with historical weekly data
I stopped the search at 1996 due to the data getting irregular with many "ties" in the records prior to that year and the confusion between the pre-Big12 conferences

If BYU had played Oklahoma State instead of Texas Tech they'd be 12-0 and a lock for the CFP.
See, I can erase a hard team and replace them with an easy team for a hypothetical win too.
