@FourEyesNoLies It sounds like this is just for engagement, but you’re on a capitalist platform that promotes AI. Complaining while being part of the problem and keeping it going is crazy.
@MattOfSteel89@EvanKirstel@WhiteHouse We in the US probably would represent Earth to aliens. Seems like every other country follows our politics, our companies are global, etc. The whole world knows our presidents, but we don’t even know what a prime minister actually is.
@PigsAndPlans Hip hop isn’t like rock. There’s less exposure for rock music now, so the old stuff is special to the fans. Rap is everywhere, so it’s disposable. Plus rap is about what exists right now. A 90s rapper talking about a pager won’t mean anything to kids.
@Fluxcapacitate@tygersparky@chumpyjones@ProfMJCleveland I have no idea what this is about, but Gen X came up at a time when things were generally better. No social media noise, no public extremism, a budget surplus, golden age of hip hop, etc. Gen X saw boomers as former far left hippies (until Trump).
Amazon Prime is hands down the worst streaming service. Like, “thanks for subscribing, here is a list of movies you need a different subscription for”.
@scottjohnson There's a lot of slop out there, but I've seen well crafted AI films on YouTube with a good script written by a human, logical blocking of scenes, etc. Using AI in that way is more like sampling in hip hop - combining other people's songs into a new track.
@JimJammyJimbo@pyrameadhead @superstashman Nope. Developers are moving away from AI chatbots and focusing on agents that can act with no human input, and create other agents. That's unprecedented automation. There's no other tech revolution in history that didn't require human operators.
@BombshellCole If he died in office, he'd become a martyr for the right. He could get his own holiday. All of his past controversies would be glossed over by the media. Plus conspiracy theorists would say he was killed and riot. Jan 6th would be nothing compared to that.
@SeewhyChels Content feels empty when there's too much of it out there. It's why even big artists can't sell product - there's too much music, and you can stream every song ever recorded for free. When music is free and abundant, it has no real value and it's forgettable.
@karlykingsley Platforms like this one changed everything. Rage creates engagement now. It's the basis for Trump's popularity. It's why we hear from him more than any other pres in history. We rarely heard from Biden, and it's why he was never popular.
@JimJammyJimbo@pyrameadhead @superstashman Yeah a Computer used to be a person whose job was to do complex math by hand. Once PCs came along, that job was gone. AI though can automate an entire company - accounting, marketing, etc. Companies in the future could just be board members, no desk workers.
@JimJammyJimbo@pyrameadhead @superstashman That used to be true, but a computer needs user input. Agents can do tasks on their own and automate entire industries. Eventually businesses won't need lower-level workers, which is most of America. That's huge savings for companies, and massive job loss.
@EYakoby It's a bad sign for Republicans if their main attack on El-Sayed is that he's friends with a streamer. Piker's job is to be inflammatory to get attention, and most people over 40 don't know or care about him. They wouldn't even know how to use Twitch.
@omgsidewalks It's about the dopamine hit that comes from winning. If you found a way to make 10 million quick, you would get a high from that. Once you get use to that money, you need a new high. Chasing wealth has been the main message in hip hop for decades now.
@EHuanglu What's in a film has more to do with the writer and editor than the actor. An Oscar winner's performance can be turned into trash with a bad script and bad editing. AI is only as good as the human using it. Plus AI actors can't do a press tour to sell a film.
