If you would like to join this year’s AcaDec team, we meet every Tuesday and Thursday from 2:50 to 3:45! ALL are welcome (unweighted GPA 0.0-4.0)! We are open to all students and their range of interests/knowledge they’d want to contribute to the team!

We are so proud of not only these two, but our entire team: Alanah Cole, Michelle Hoover, Nathaniel Imhoff, Clint McKenzie, Alexander Maret, Graciela Albarran-Bautista, as well as Duncan and Megan. These 8 students carried on the great legacy of this team during Nationals.

SO proud of this team - we placed a solid NOT LAST (or even second to last!!) at the national Academic Decathlon this week, which was our goal! This was a great end to a great season.

Good luck to our Nationals team tomorrow!! They’ve made it through 2 days of speeches and interviews already, plus the art and essay events. Tomorrow they’ll wrap up the competition with 5 hours of math, economics, science, social science, literature, and music.

The Shawnee Mission School District (SMSD) has updated the inclement weather procedures for the 2021-22 school year. The plans can be viewed here and more information has been emailed to all staff and families.

Congratulations to our team who competed at regionals this past month! Our team took first place with a total of 20,504 points. We won 64 awards among all our individual team members, and we will advance to the state competition in February!
