Today my class finished Front Desk as a part of the Global Read Aloud. As I read the last sentences of the book my class erupted in cheers and applause. Thank you to @pernilleripp and @kellyyanghk for making such an incredible moment possible through #GRA19 #GRAFront. 🎉📚❤️👓👩🏼‍🏫

Null curriculum- Students learn something based on what we don’t expose them to. “What is absent becomes present.” @MilnerHRich

“Individuals make systems.” @MilnerHRich This means any changes made in our educational system as a whole must start with each teacher creating change in their own classroom.

Just engaged in a book buzz during PD in a small group and over half of us were reading books by authors of color! So awesome to see. Got some good recommendations too! Keep up the great work teachers! #tosaproud

"If they will not help us safely reopen schools and businesses, prevent evictions, create jobs & affordable housing, deliver health care and mental health, dismantle systemic racism, and more – the least they can do is leave us alone," the statement said. https://t.co/FLxTjus2y0

Happy Independence Day weekend! Let's talk about:

WE Miss You!

[Beth Moore @BethMooreLPM]

Helps to remember the objective:

We’re staying in
so we can go back out.

We’re staying apart
so we can get back together.

We’re loving one another
WELL

So we don’t make one another
SICK.

All our hard todays
are for a lotta happier tomorrows.

Here’s our progress so far with being kind in our classroom after one week! Our jar is halfway full and I’ve gotten a few bingos on my personal bingo sheet! There are 3 Ss who blacked out their boards already! #choosekindness #tosaproud @TosaWilson

[Stevie Sagmeister @smsagmeister]

Today we left kind notes for some of the great adults in our school. We are so grateful for our teachers, custodians, lunch helpers, and principal! The Ss were also happy to be acknowledged for their efforts by others. #kindnessiscontagious #choosekindness #tosaproud @TosaWilson

[Stevie Sagmeister @smsagmeister]

This month our school’s PBIS theme is kindness, so our classroom is working to become a Certified Kind Classroom! It’s so awesome to hear my Ss share out the thoughtful things others had done for them in the classroom within one day! #choosekind #tosaproud
