SMS Student Council volunteered last week at the Wortman Family Civic Theatre, with 16 members helping Shelby County Players organize between productions.
It was a great night at the IN Association of School Principals recognition dinner in Indianapolis, where SCS achieved an unprecedented sweep of District 10 nominations. Four outstanding SCS leaders were honored (front L to R): Amy Dawson, Bri Kompara, Wes Hall & Erin Tilley.

The Shelbyville Middle School Beginning Choir participated in the Hoosier Hills Choral Festival this weekend. They were one of five choirs present from Indiana and Ohio, with 150 singers! Congratulations Mrs Hall - Your singers sounded fantastic!
SMS teachers Mrs. Shanae Dees and Mr. Scott Hughes traveled to Tremont, Tennessee, this weekend to help prepare for our upcoming student trip. While there, they participated in Walker Valley Living History and met Robin Goddard, who portrayed Anne Davis—
—a Girl Scout who hiked the very same trails, stayed with the Walker sisters, and later played a role in helping create the Tremont Institute. Mr. Hughes has been to Tremont more than 35 times. We can’t wait for our students to experience the same sense of adventure and—
