Okay ! Warning !!!! : This is going to be a long post !!! 15 questions to follow + links !

- LIGHT PROJECT ARMY TORONTO, EXPLANATION 101-

Since yesterday, I've seen a lot of people expressing concern about the MAPLE ARMY light show project in Toronto. I'm involved in the project, I'm even a volunteer, so I'm pretty well-informed about how everything will go. I'm going to explain it here. It might seem complicated or poorly organized, but it's not, don't worry! ;) I'll also try to offer some solutions to some of your concerns.

1. Isn't this project a bit too ambitious for a fandom like we ?
- 21 million ticket requests last April, when they released a limited number of tickets.
- SOLD OUT in 5 minutes last January.
- 13,500 + 12,500 $ x 2 = 26,000 $. That’s a lot of ARMYs who donated! So, no, it’s not that ambitious, it’s right up the fandom’s alley.

2. Why Twitter, and only now ?
This project has been gaining traction on all the other social media platforms, and it’s been on Twitter as well. I’m actually in a Twitter group where that’s all we’ve been talking about for weeks. But we had to be sure the project would work before we could ramp up our efforts.

3. Yes, but do we need the agency’s permission for that !?
No, the agency doesn’t have to give its permission. Live Nation Ontario and Rogers Stadium decide together whether the project can go ahead or not. They receive guidance from Hybe and use that as the basis for saying yes or no. In our case, Live Nation Ontario and Rogers Stadium said that if we handle it ourselves and they don’t have to do anything, since the project won’t interfere with the concert, then they’ve approved it. So, yes, we have the permits. But we needed them specifically to be able to promote the event more aggressively, and that’s what we’re doing now. It took a long time to get the response and secure the full amount, it’s about $12,500.

4. Okay, but... what is We Pix ?
We Pix is an app for light displays, believe it or not, but they specialize in that and have a foothold in France (it’s essentially a French company) and in Canada, which is why we can afford it. This app has already worked on other projects, all of which have been successful. The complete name of app it's "We Pix Arena"

5. Yeah, but doesn't this app seem complicated to use ?!
Yes, it might seem complicated if you don't have all the information, but it's not complicated at all.
A : Download the app from the Play Store and the App Store. "We Pix Arena"
B : Open the app !
C : Enter your seat number for the day of your concert. If you’re coming on the 22nd, register your seat for the 22nd. And do this before the concert to avoid downloading data in the venue, which will cost you a lot of data.
D : Close the app.

When the time comes for the project, here’s what you’ll do :
E: Open the app
F: Tap “Start”
G: Lower your ARMY ball or set it down next to you, then hold up your phone with the screen facing BTS, because that’s where the color will appear. You don’t have to do anything else. No color to select, no button to hold down.

6. Okay, but what does this project involve ?
It's simple. During the "micro-wave" moment (after the last surprise song and before their speech, which happens right before "Please"), we'll all open this app, tap the day of the concert, and press "Start." Meanwhile, the members will be sitting down and getting ready to talk to us. So, theoretically, they’ll have their backs to us during that time, and when they turn to face us, we should all have our phones more or less in the air, and the singing and light-up tifo show will begin.

7. Yes, but exactly, how can you be sure you’ll reach 101 000 fans ?
A : The propaganda is more aggressive right now. Want proof ? It’s all over Twitter.
B : We won’t just be running the campaign on social media, there will be on-site efforts too. Section leaders will be there before the show to help you download the app and show you how it works.
C : There will also be cards with QR codes and instructions that volunteers will hand out to ARMYs right before they enter the stadium.
D : There will also be cards on chairs in the stadium with instructions and a QR code, just share them with each other, and if all else fails, go see your section leader, who will be clearly identified, for help.

8. Yeah, but I can't read Korean !
That's not a problem, you can just hum along to the tune, it'll sound like a choir, and it'll be beautiful! I'll check with the organizers, but I think you could do that. Of course, it’s better to learn the lyrics and sing them, but if you can’t manage it after trying so many times, you can just hum along. Everyone knows how to hum these two songs, they’re usually well-known among the fandom since they’ve been sung so often.

9. But why are you doing this project ?
It’s simple. We want to show our love for BTS in a unique way that’s different from everyone else’s. We want to give them a gift they’ll never forget and that they’ll be happy to receive. Banners, everyone does those. But a light-up tifo plus singing ? No. France tried it, but it wasn’t allowed. I admit I don’t really understand why, but anyway, we’ve been given the go-ahead to do it. We’re the only country that will put on a singing light-up tifo for them, the very first one of their career. We also want to show BTS that we’ve missed them and that we’ve NEVER let them down. This is a big project, but keep in mind that it’s meant to show BTS how much we love them, how much we’ve missed them, and how grateful we are that they came, because I’m pretty sure it was BTS who insisted on coming here. Otherwise, I think the agency would have skipped us again.

10. Okay, but if the Wi-Fi doesn't work there, what do we do ?
There's an area outside the stadium where the Wi-Fi works, you can download the app there. Once you're inside the stadium, you'll have to use your data.

11. Yeah, but what if I don't have any Gigs ?
You can ask a friend next to you or an ARMY if they'd like to share their Gig with you. The app doesn’t use up a lot of data. It just needs data for the signal, after that, it won’t use any more. They’ve done their research on this to make sure it won’t use up a lot of data, because we all know data is expensive !!!

12. Okay, but... how will we know when to do it and stay in sync ?
It's simple. After the last surprise song, when the members settle in to talk to us, open the app and tap "Start." The color will appear on its own, all you have to do is hold your phone up in the air and lower your ARMY BOMB.

13. BTS will laugh at us and think they wasted their time because of us if the project doesn't work out !
The long-time ARMYs will tell you this. BTS would NEVER laugh at their fans, or feel like they’ve wasted their time or anything like that. Just knowing that someone tried to pull off such a huge, beautiful, and expensive project just for them, whether it succeeds or not, will touch BTS’s hearts.

14. Yes, but how will I know the lyrics ?
You’ll be given a sheet with the lyrics, and they’re also listed on the project map. So, if you haven’t memorized them in time, you’ll have something to help you sing along with everyone else. It’s best to know them by heart, but sometimes they just don’t stick in your head, so don’t worry about it.

15. What about the photos ? I want a keepsake of that glowing, singing tifo !!!
We Pix, film the event. Big Hit is filming the show—we’ve literally seen it. So they’ll have all of that captured on their cameras, which are way better than our phones. The Mexican fans’ project and the Korean flag were featured on Bangtan TV, and they’ll do the same here. And as for BTS’s reaction, when they give their speech, the project will be over, and you’ll be able to film their reactions, it won’t change a thing. In the end, you’ll have the entire project filmed, including their reactions during and after the speech, you’ll get it just like everyone else once the project is over. BTS will just enjoy the moment; they won’t deliver their speech over the top of us singing, whether we’re singing well or badly, but we’re singing anyway, hahaha!

@jjeonkosmos Hearing about how many people had issues with the manual pairing, I think they might want to fine-tune the system before they actually input it. I prefer auto sync than having to resync, with shabby internet connection and miss parts of the show!
