Do you know a high school senior who could use $1,000 for college or trade school? The Illinois Municipal Utilities Association (IMUA), our statewide trade association, has four $1,000 Scholarship awards available. Visit https://t.co/YQXi2VEvhJ for details.
IMEA facilitates collaboration amongst its member municipalities to serve their current and future electric power needs and provide tailor-made energy services.

Proud to be your low-cost municipal power provider! As electricity costs spike across Illinois, we want to show how CWLP continues to deliver value with our ownership of generation and explain what is driving up costs on Ameren Illinois bills recently.

On June 2, 2025, Sergeant of the Guard Sgt. 1st Class Andrew Jay took his final walk as a Tomb Guard at Arlington National Cemetery. In a powerful farewell, he laid roses at each crypt of the Unknown Soldiers, then walked off the plaza hand in hand with his 8-year-old son, Finn.
It was a bright sunny day for a ribbon-cutting! IMEA’s solar project in Oglesby is now complete and putting out enough electricity to power 70 homes.
We thank everyone who helped us official open our new solar site.

We’re excited to announce our solar project in Princeton, Illinois, is now complete and producing enough energy to power approximately 185 homes! Look for more IMEA solar announcements this summer because our green energy continues to grow.🌱
Our 32 member municipalities will soon receive greener power thanks to our agreement for a 150-megawatt utility-scale solar generating facility, named Bee Hollow. The new St. Claire Co. facility is estimated to produce enough electricity to power 44,123 homes for a year.
Happy #PublicPowerWeek! Public Power means reliability, local ownership, low rates, and a focus on you. As a municipal utility, it's essential to CWLP that our customers receive the greatest possible benefit for every dollar they spend on electricity and water. #EnergyServices
As we celebrate #PublicPowerWeek, volunteers from our member municipalities of Breese, Carlyle, Naperville, Highland and Rochelle responded to the call for mutual aid in the wake of Hurricane Milton.
They join a restoration workforce of more than 2,500 personnel from 22 states.
It's #PublicPowerWeek & we want to give a special shout out to not only our electric crews, but also to the 1,000s of crew members that have been working to restore power following #HurricaneHelene across FL, GA, TN & NC, and to the many more crews to go for #HurricaneMilton.
