Three days ago, I woke up to something every crypto holder dreads.
I opened my Trust Wallet… and I was logged out.
For the first time since 2021.
At first, I thought it was a glitch. Then reality hit, it was asking for my seed phrase.
My heart dropped.
I had assets in there… a lot. Including my biggest holding $WKC. $Gtan and some Eth tokens.
And my seed phrase?
Written down somewhere about 5 years ago.
For 3 days, I turned my life upside down searching. Every drawer, every book, every corner. I barely slept. My mind kept racing:
“What if someone threw it away?” “What if it’s gone forever?” “Am I about to lose everything?”
The panic was real. The kind that sits heavy in your chest.
Then finally, I found it.
A small, old jotter. Worn out. Almost forgotten.
I can’t even describe the relief. My hands were shaking as I entered the phrase.
And just like that, my main account was back, Saved.
But the story doesn’t end there.
I had a second wallet inside the app, holding about 40 billion WKC and other tokens.
And this time… I never wrote down the seed phrase.
That one is gone.
Probably forever. E pain me shaa..
That’s when it really sank in:
In crypto, there’s no “forgot password.” No customer support. No second chances.
Your seed phrase is EVERYTHING.
Lose it… and you lose your assets.
So please, learn from me:
Write down your seed phrase. Store it safely. Do it for EVERY wallet you create.
Because one day, you might wake up like I did.
And not everyone gets a second chance.
I don’t think I wrote it down, I just created that wallet in my main wallet then transferred about 40b $WKC in to the wallet that I said I won’t be touching till 5years time. I was thinking that once I open my main wallet I can assess the second wallet which has been how it is until @TrustWallet decided to log me out.
Haa! I just came to tweet that I will be resuming our spray party and will be spraying $BTCDRAGON as it has the lowest MC amongst the SMC DAO tokens only for me to open my wallet and was shocked. It has Jump by over 100%….
I am spraying regardless!
