These days of Dhul Hijjah (first 10 days) are the only days of the year where all the 5 pillars of Islam exist together. On these days, we reaffirm our faith, we observe solat, we fast, we pay zakat and give out sodaqo and the Hujjaj perform Hajj. May Allah accept our dua and grant us the ability to earn reward on these days. Aamin

alhamdulillāh, we have officially entered the best days of the year. i wrote about the virtues of dhul hijjah and some of the recommended acts of worship. here are some very important ones:

- hold on to the obligatory acts of worship, particularly your ṣalāh at the right times.
- dhul hijjah is a sacred month as well, the weight of sins are heavy. abstain!
- performing hajj is the greatest act of worship in these days, for those who are able.
- fasting is highly recommended especially on the day of Arafah.
- increase in all forms of righteous deeds.
- give sadaqah and engage in the remembrance of Allāh.

may Allāh accept it from us.

My Dear Sister-in-Islam,

When the chest is exposed but the head is covered, it is not Ḥijāb.

When the head is covered but the body is wrapped in tight-fitted clothing that seductively reveals the shape of the body, it is not Ḥijāb.

When the hair is concealed but beauty, adornment and attraction are deliberately displayed for attention, it is not Ḥijāb.

When the garment itself becomes a means of showing off, competing for attention and seeking admiration, it departs from the spirit of Ḥijāb.

When modesty disappears from speech, conduct and interaction, cloth alone does not complete Ḥijāb.

Ḥijāb is not merely a scarf on the head; it is modesty in dress, dignity in conduct, humility in movement and consciousness of Allāh in public and private.

True Ḥijāb is a garment of faith, modesty and honour.

When you adorn the Hijāb, do it properly, understand and observe its etiquettes so that Allah recognizes you as one of those who sincerely obey His command.

I was working as a contract staff in a bank.

One day, I went to the head office of a manufacturing firm to submit my CV.

I was told they weren't accepting CVs.

On my way back downstairs, I met a woman and told her I was looking for a job. She told me they weren't recruiting. I pleaded with her to take my CV and submit when they are recruiting.

She later accepted. I forgot about it.

Few months later, I received a text from the company inviting me for an interview.

I passed and was offered a job.

The salary was a 100 percent increase from my job as a contract staff. I also get to enjoy other benefits as a staff.

When I went to pick my appointment letter, I looked for the woman and couldn't find her.

I Didn't even know her name.

I say a prayer everytime I remember her. That job helped me and upper my finances.

Referrals still remain one of the best ways to get a job!

It's my number one option whenever I wish to change jobs..
