@scb_planning I also think this about modular construction, there is no doubting the benefits of modular/MMC but would those pushing the agenda buy a modular apartment?
Whats behind the plasterboard? Take a look into how the material used to conceal the inner workings of walls and ceilings is produced and what issues that brings. #architecture#circulareconomy#construction#zerowaste

This proposal by Pickard Properties should be rejected on the basis that an original building was completed 19 years ago, buildings are not disposable. We need to be honest with architects and designers about expected building service life #circulareconomy https://t.co/CCWeGYWaet
Its frightening the amount of plastic cleaning bottles that we go through, great to see refillable cleaning bottles + non-toxic tabs on @kickstarter#takemymoney#circulareconomy https://t.co/jNnslCOyxa
Watched 'Planet of the Humans' last night, a frightening, thought provoking and depressing summary of where we stand with our planet and current politic, financial and cultural systems. Hoping our response to COVID-19 can be the catalyst for change https://t.co/V5S8d1RipA
Only 15 years since it was opened, Vauxhall bus station looks likely to be demolished, what a waste of time and money in design, procurement, construction and the extraction of raw materials. https://t.co/orUzTzNXnf
#Construction and #demolition activities contribute to 62% of all UK #waste and while 90% of this is recovered it is often downcycled into lesser valuable materials, for instance bricks, tiles and concrete are crushed to form aggregate, limiting future reuse. #circulareconomy
@WasteBadger An exciting product and cant wait to learn more about it, Scotland is leading the way for sustainability in the UK. Interested to see how its constructed at the Serepentine. What type of mortar will bind the bricks? Will it be deconstructed and reused or demolished and recycled?
@WasteBadger There is no recycling facility available for me living in a flat, we store recycling and drive it to the recycling centre (more embodied carbon). It's extremely annoying that it is then shipped to another country to maximise profit, local solutions need to be found and developed.
Investing in #bricksandmortar is a popular saying but with the rise of the #circulareconomy this may change. Dry construction methods such as the ClickBrick have yet to break into the UK market but is this the beginning of the end for mortar? #building#architecture#construction
