I don’t get why people are angry about this. I’m glad they sent an alert out. All it takes is ONE IDIOT to not take this seriously, then neighbourhoods are burning down and people are dying. Better safe than sorry.
This evening, an Emergency Alert has been sent to people across England and Wales as the wildfire risk remains very high. The request came directly from Fire and Rescue Services.
I was in Stourbridge today and saw first-hand the devastating impact these fires have had on people’s homes and lives.
Our priority now is to keep everyone safe and prevent more fires from starting.
During this period of extreme heat, I’m asking everyone to take extra care. Please do not light any fires in gardens, the countryside or other open spaces, including parks, moorland and wooded areas.
Our firefighters and emergency responders are working around the clock in incredibly difficult conditions.
We can all help them. Please take the Emergency Alert seriously and follow the guidance in place.
Was just at the gym. When I was in there everyone’s phones kept going off with the emergency wildfire alert 😭😭
I also got the alert a second time for some reason, with my headphones on, right in my bloody ears
my weekend plans:
- barbecue for my friends :D
- telling stories around the firepit
- using the garden incinerator to clear my garden
- setting off fireworks to celebrate an amazing summer
like if you agree
Weather mild, lots of rain = fire no spread
Weather hot, very dry = fire spread quickly
The sheer, unadultered stupidity of climate deniers is remarkable.
just saw an artist with a gorilla hypnosis fetish. hypnotizing women into being gorillas. there are fetishes out there i couldnt even begin to imagine or make up on my own
- called the election yourself when you already had the job
- stood against a joke candidate
- in your safe seat
- campaigned really hard
- sacrificed other reform campaigns for extra help
- still only got 60%
- is now running a self congratulatory victory lap
