Boichi, the creator of Dr. STONE, says that people who read pirated manga are not the industry’s enemies.
“Readers of pirated manga are not our adversaries. They are our future audience. They are proof that the demand already exists.”
He explains that many fans worldwide still have no legal way to read manga because some countries lack publishers, translation services, and distribution networks.
In those places, telling people to “just buy manga” does not solve the problem when legal options do not exist.
Boichi believes the industry should see them as proof of demand.
If you haven’t seen today’s news, it’s rocked the modding community in a big way.
Earlier today Lance McDonald shared on X, “The entire source code and all assets for Metal Gear Solid 2 HD just leaked on 4chan,” likely tied to Armature Studio’s work on the Vita port.
And this goes far beyond just the HD version.
Our own MGN moderator and modder, @Afevis , whose contributions to the MGS2 and MGS3 modding scene speak for themselves (MGSHDFix) shared some early insight:
“It’s not just the HD versions in the dump, it’s the full source code for the PS2 / Xbox / PC versions, everything up to Vita. The original E3 trailer script files are here. The cut Tanker water-escape sequence. 9/11 censored scripting. Internal file editors & tooling, etc.”
When asked if there were more assets from the pre-9/11 build, he added:
“It does. At a brief glance, Arsenal Gear -> Manhattan crash stuff was censored by simply commenting out code. Likewise, there’s E3 / Demo assets. HD version was definitely made from OG source, not 100% reverse engineered as people misinterpret from old Bluepoint Games interviews.”
Modders are still digging through everything, but the implications are massive. This could mean restoring cut content, uncovering unseen material, and gaining a much deeper understanding of how the game was built.
On top of that, it gives the community more tools to preserve and refine these games going forward.
If even part of this holds true, this is a huge unexpected moment for the scene.
More to come!

I don't care about remakes so I won't get MGS3 Delta unless it's 30 bucks but I do have to give one thing up to Konami's producers. Highlighting David Hayter and giving him a role in the marketing, promotion and legacy of the series is more respect than Kojima ever gave him.
Feeling down?
This thread of Robin Williams will put a smile on your face 🧵
1. Robin Williams visited paralyzed Christopher Reeves, disguised as an accented doctor, and humorously threatened a rectal exam, making Reeves laugh for the first time after his accident.
The genius? It was originally a simple two-line street joke from Colin Quinn.
But when Conan needed to fill time, Norm transformed it into high art.
He showed how the setup is often funnier than the punchline.
The Moth Joke became Norm's masterpiece:
"A moth goes to a podiatrist. The podiatrist says 'What's the problem?' The moth says 'Doc, I'm troubled...'"
For the next 3 minutes, Norm wove Russian literature, existential dread, and profound depression into a story about... a moth.
In 1986, a young comedian walked off stage at Yuk Yuk's Comedy Club and vowed never to perform again.
That same year, he was diagnosed with cancer.
His name was Norm Macdonald, and his story would change comedy forever.
Here's what happened:
