Madlanga Commission Gets Extension:

President Cyril Ramaphosa has extended the deadline for the final report of the Madlanga Commission of Inquiry into Criminality, Political Interference and Corruption in the Criminal Justice System.

The Commission must now conclude evidence by 2 October 2026 and submit its final report by 16 November 2026, instead of the original 31 August 2026 deadline.

The Presidency says the extension will allow the Commission to complete its work, hear evidence on all matters within its terms of reference, and avoid leaving key investigations unfinished.

Ramaphosa also praised the Commission’s work and ongoing law enforcement action stemming from evidence presented during the hearings.
