The opposition to Digital ID is important, but as usual while we are looking one way they are building a Digital prison the other.

we also have to be alert for the smaller Digital prisons, Directors, Driving Licences, Banks CO2 monitoring, Buying a pint, Digital ID for kids etc etc

I think the plan is to get us fighting an ID that will never come in, while under the radar they create these seemingly disconnected ports, that they will centralise later down the line.
