Yes, a clear breakup needs to be released. how many books were bought, which books were recommended by which committee members, how many of them are fake.

The govt. should already have this data, so why so much delay in releasing it?

3rd day of the controversy, still no considerable action from DVAC!!

Publisher, committee members, the officials who placed the order, everyone needs to be questioned at the very least. But nothing as such seems to have happened.

The way things are moving, #TVK govt. seems to be trying to save the officials involved & avoid some embarrassment for their govt. as well.

Without the involvement of bigwigs I doubt the books would have passed the commision members approval.

I mean if it was one or two books , we can argue it could have been an oversight, but so many books with absurd titles and authors ,I think someone influential was definitely involved.

It is possible that senior party leaders may not have been part of the scam. That may explain this move. The amounts involved do not appear to be large enough to interest their bigwigs. 😀

But I have only one disappointment , the DVAC should have processed the case already! They should have started questioning the people involved like yesterday !

Absolutely disagree on his point to defend the officials. I understand the staff who received the books and stamped it wouldn't have been knowledgeble , but what about the officials who placed the order? Two days and still DVAC is processing the complaint copy? By the time they act all evidences will be tampered with. By this time the publication's representatives and officers should have been questioned and arrested if deemed necessary.

Now which govt. Official over saw the order ? In what basis was the order placed? Did the commitee recommendation have these books listed ? Or it was just sent randomly by the publication's ? If so, why did they not cross verify when they receive the books and stamp it? Why wasn't a basic check not done during receiving ? Why isn't the publication's owner not arrested yet ?

Still lot of unanswered questions !

I really hope a strong case is filed and everyone involved in the scam is punished to the highest order.

How money minded , selfish and cruel one must be to do this kind of scam in public libraries.

Consider if the author and AI content was more meaningful and was little harder to figure out? How many young people visit the library on a daily basis and would have consumed knowledge from them?

How absurd is this… so you can publish AI books with absurd content if the money being wasted is “not significant”?

The real alarming part is the effort spent to use AI, print fake-author books with wrong facts, and systematically insert them into a big library like Periyar Noolagam.

Yesterday, the narrative was it was not in #DMK but in #TVK's period, today the narrative is the amount is not significant. Tomorrow?

He honestly put out the numbers

DMK procured 60,266 books for ₹19.19 Cr

Out of 60,266 books Tamil Books are 25,425 books

Out of 25,425 Tamil Books 9.20% procured from Akal Vilikku publishers. It works out to 2,340 Books

This 2,340 books works out to 4% of total 60,266 books

On value wise..

Total amount spent - 19.19 Cr
4% procurement from Akal Vilakku - 77 lacs approx

With these above rough computation the total impact is less than 1 cr.. it seems

When competing states have less tax, there is absolutely no sense to have high taxes for aviation fuel when Chennai airport infrastructure is already poor.

The reduction in tax is about increasing competitiveness and allowing more flights to function from Chennai. More flights and increased frequency can eventually lead to improved economic activity in the state and higher overall tax revenue, even if direct fuel tax drops.

The TVK government has reduced VAT on aviation turbine fuel from 29% to 16% at Chennai airport and to just 1% at other airports in Tamil Nadu, aiming to make air travel more affordable.

The quotation is already submitted by TNEB for substation and HT lines to the builder.

Still if you need any guidance meet me tomorrow 9am or Monday 9am at my secretariat office. Better to come with your association members so that they will understand the procedure.

I believe the builder has many projects following this same pattern and already has a lot of cases against him. Better for the residents’ association to take up whatever works they can on their own and file a civil suit against the developers to recover the money later (hopefully).
