@ShoelessMicah@rezmoad I agree with you Micah, but I also think realistically our generation scrolls very quickly on social media, so "clickbait" can be necessary as an attention grabber. But it means it is up to us to look past the clickbait and look into the real news. #jrm319
@rezmoad I would also add that this is a good example of impartial reporting despite any personal feelings the journalist may have about Franco and his actions. He also does a good job reporting on the current events by using the words "charged with" and not accusing Franco. #jrm319
@ShoelessMicah I agree with you Micah that the tone is not entirely serious throughout the whole article. I think that the lede could have been rewritten more seriously to better summarize the main focuses of the article. #JRM319
@ShoelessMicah I agree Micah that it demonstrates Inverted Pyramid style of writing just like we discussed in class. However, it only has one source. A good option for a second source would be one of the visitors to the Parish who experienced the AI. #JRM319
@CBSNews This is a perfect example of hard news and the pros of displaying news on social media. By putting this on X it reaches the people in the Louisville area beyond just the ones sitting in front of their TV and alerts them that they may need to evacuate! #jrm319
@FoxNews Maybe it's just because it was not the focus of the article, but this piece lacks WHY Trump is choosing to pick his cabinet at a faster rate than when he was elected in 2016. I think including that "W" would have made the focus of this article more newsworthy/interesting. #JRM319
@OANN This article is a great example of how to stay unbiased even within political writing by identifying reasons both sides have for breaking this decades old tradition. However, it could have been improved by finding a non-anonymous source. #JRM319
@CBSNews This article is a great example of Inverted Pyramid style writing for a breaking news story. It uses very credible and relevant sources with statistics about inflation from Credit Karma and Adobe to back up their claim that grocery prices will soon begin to decrease. #JRM319
@rezmoad I would agree with you both Elliot and Reza that clickbait is a serious issue facing journalism today. It was created by citizen journalists, but I now see it even being used by traditional news sources on their social media accounts! #jrm319
@EBU_HQ The increase of journalism through social media is real, and it has created great concern surrounding mis- and dis- information. I completely agree with the take of the podcast that it has led everyone to be more cautious and refuse to believe everything you see. #JRM319
