Hurricane Helene was 2 months ago

NEW: Asheville North Carolina victim crying “It hurts. It hurts to know that people's got family, that they haven't a clue where they're even at, and bodies that can't even be identified. But none of this is making the news. Nothing”

FEMA not paying out, “I've got a brother up here. I've got my aunt that totally lost anything. And to the best of my knowledge, they still haven't heard back from their claims.”

She says contractors are not being paid for their work clearing and building, “They haven't even been paid for their work or as a contractor to get all this debris on out of us because they've yet to be paid — those guys worked relentlessly”

Says the government came in and did photo ops with helicopters and good but they haven’t seen them since

My name is Wendy Patterson, I'm a resident of North Carolina and I write to you today to ask you to consider being a part of a new program to provide Rv's to the 300 people on a waiting list who need shelter after Hurricane Helene.

I'm not asking you to give these RV's to them but allow for crowdfunding for them using your outdated inventory, 2023 and 2024 that have already been reduced.

If you would be interested in being an active participant in this endeavor to provide shelters with a heat source to the victims of Hurricane Helene, please reach out to me so we can discuss the details.

The users on the X platform are very generous people and if we ask them to contribute to pay for specific RV's, I'm sure that they will be more than willing to support their fellow Americans in their time of need.

Our community is filled with stories of love and kindness, and today we wanted to share another special one.

Recently, a thoughtful soul found something unexpected on Blue Ridge Road near the Sweet Birch subdivision in Black Mountain—a pet urn engraved with the name ‘Rocky’ and the dates 2/12/2002 - 4/14/2015.

It’s a beautiful cedar box, a treasure that holds the memories of a beloved companion.

We want nothing more than to reunite this precious keepsake with Rocky’s family. It’s clear that Rocky was deeply loved, and we can imagine the memories tied to him that his family might want back.

If anyone recognizes this box or knows who might have been Rocky’s family, please help us spread the word and contact @discoverashevillenc on FB or Instagram.
