Ever heard of the Father Paradox?

It’s a classic time-travel thought experiment:
You travel back in time to stop your father from making a choice that leads to your birth.

The logic instantly breaks:
No Birth: You stop him, so you are never born.
No Traveler: If you’re never born, you can't go back to stop him.
Father Lives: Unstopped, he makes the choice, and you are born.
Infinite Loop: You grow up, build a time machine, and try to stop him again.

Round and round it goes, a story that can never end.

It’s the universe’s ultimate race condition:
A broken recursive dependency where the output negates its own input.
It’s like deploying a bug fix that deletes the commit history that allowed you to identify the bug in the first place, triggering an endless cycle of hotfixes and rollbacks.

In code, this throws a stack overflow. In time travel, reality gets stuck in a while(true) block.

Today, the world celebrates a game that transcends borders. But as an Armenian, this day holds a deeply personal meaning for me.

In Armenia, chess isn’t just a pastime or a hobby. It is woven into our DNA.

Despite having a population of only 3 million, my home country is a certified global chess superpower. We have won 3 Chess Olympiads, routinely defeating global giants, and boast one of the highest numbers of Grandmasters per capita on Earth.

But our biggest achievement isn't the trophies. It’s our approach to education.

In 2011, Armenia became the first country to make chess a mandatory school subject for all primary students. Growing up or watching our younger generation go through this, you realize it was never about just manufacturing future champions.

It was a masterclass in building cognitive infrastructure. The chessboard became the ultimate classroom, teaching 8-year-olds:

🧠 Macro-Strategy: Learning to think 5 steps ahead before making a single move.
⏳ Pressure Management: Making calm, logical decisions under strict time constraints.
🎯 Extreme Accountability: Instantly owning the direct consequences of your choices.

On #InternationalChessDay, I am incredibly proud of how my country weaponized a 1,500-year-old game to teach critical thinking.
It serves as a powerful reminder for leaders, managers, and educators everywhere: the best way to build a culture of strategic thinkers is to invest in the foundation from day one.

I just failed my driving test.

In Armenia, that is a staggering amount of money for driving lessons. But the system feels designed to break your spirit.

So you pay. You follow the rules.
And then?

Your account gets silently blocked.
No warning.
Just a hidden rule that locks you out for a month after your second failure.

The system takes your money, freezes your time, and tests your sanity.
I’m sharing this because the mental toll of this bureaucratic loop is real. Walking away feeling defeated, not because you can’t drive, but because the system makes it impossible to pass, is exhausting.

To anyone else in Yerevan fighting this same battle right now: I see you.

It is deeply unfair.
But just like a stubborn bug in production, I am not giving up.
I will wait out the block, log back in, and get that license.

We keep moving forward, even when the road is completely blocked. 💪
