@MGnifyDB is excited to be offering a day-long hands-on workshop in Bangkok, Thailand on August 11th.
This a unique opportunity to meet and train with the MGnify team outside the UK and learn about the MGnify platform and metagenomic data analysis.

The Chicken Gut v1.0 catalogue (on @MGnifyDB) is a superset of the HoloFood Chicken Gut (on the @HoloFood_EU portal). The MGnify catalogue also includes other publicly available MAGs – (the catalogue README at https://t.co/hLZaZudnns lists all included project accessions)
Very happy to see the public release of our @HoloFood_EU dataset, with richly annotated and linked data now usable by future projects. The portal connects multiomics data in various @emblebi repositories, with a data model derived from the overall experimental design.
On #WorldMicrobiomeDay, we celebrate the launch of the HoloFood Data Portal from @emblebi containing microbiome and molecular data from chicken and salmon gut microbiome. A great resource for developing new, sustainable animal feed!

@BioMickWatson@MGnifyDB@HoloFood_EU@emblebi Manuscript ✨coming soon✨ – but the portal is open for exploration at https://t.co/YNT31oum3d . Key things for me: 1. host/sample hierarchies are quite project specific to model – so a bespoke portal helps discovery. 2. as does designing a solid metadata schema for BioSamples
The project generated the world’s most comprehensive hologenomic dataset for chicken and salmon – now open to all via the Holo Food Data Portal courtesy of our @MGnifyDB, Biosamples, @ENASequence, and @MetaboLights teams.

🐔🐟Chicken & salmon are two of the biggest protein sources worldwide, but their production is resource intensive.
@HoloFood_EU leveraged #hologenomics data to explore more sustainable animal feed alternatives.

🎉Thank you all for joining #BioHackEU22! A special thanks to our online and overseas participants 🙌 staying up late hacking through different projects with us.
👏It has been a great week, we had BiohackaTONs of fun!! Look forward to seeing you next year for #BioHackEU23!🥳
Our second #BioHackEU22 development is thanks to @sndyrgrs - a Jupyter Lab extension for our notebooks servers that keeps MGnify-specific help and links close by.
Amazing to see a structural model for nearly every @MGnifyDB protein. This dataset will provide new insights to the functional diversity encoded by microbes - congratulations @alexrives and @MetaAI team.
A huge achievement for #metagenomics today as @MetaAI releases their ESM Metagenomic Atlas comprising >600M protein structures from the @MGnifyDB protein database.
🐓Next up we've had a sneak peak of the @HoloFood_EU data portal by @sndyrgrs & a short practical on considerations for data organisation and accessibility!
Looking for a PhD in microbial genomics to investigate the human #microbiome's role in host health? I am recruiting PhD students to start throughout 2023 @Cambridge_Uni with several projects available: https://t.co/f2kNgkHmKv. Please RT and share
This year #WorldMicrobiomeDay is celebrating the microbial world, and we want to share our key projects and releases over the last year by celebrating some of the incredible team behind @MGnifyDB and the @robdfinn research group contributing to exploration of microbiomes.
MGnify's Notebook Server is an @EMBL_BioIT-hosted @ProjectJupyter Lab environment, to help you explore MGnify's #microbiome derived datasets.
Jump from a MGnify Study on the website into an R or Python session ready to begin your own analysis on it.

Delighted to see @GoogleAI collaborate w/@MGnifyDB to use ML to provide 1.5 billion protein function predictions (!). While protein structure prediction is useful, accurate protein function predictions can truly unlock all kinds of new possibilities!
Congrats to the team at @MGnifyDB on their 2.4B sequence protein database release! We're glad to have supported this effort with an #ML generated collection of 1.5B protein function predictions. Read more about this project, including prior work, below: https://t.co/5BtFo1iXAo
