@CharizardEats Tcgplayer for modern/actually has comps. Ebay last solds for slabs. The other 3 have too many issues, and are just derivatives of the 1st 2. I mean anyone using pricecharting, is only using it to take advantage of someone who doesn't know it's flaws in pricing.
@VitoComedy@bashmcalister So you mean like the non-foil Tifa Lockharts from the pro tour? And the foils go for 3x that or more? Like that? Because Magic gets that too...
@VitoComedy Agreed. That's why Universes Beyond is so important to magic. Magic's characters dont mean anything, but being able to make promos of other universes is huge.
@FrowningTable It's redemption. The answer is always redemption. Foundations was like 10ish tix for the entire set while in the limited rotation because unredeemable. Which made limited events not fire. Non-redeemable sets are the worse for MTGO. Or blame UB like the rest of the internet..
@Alexe525@bashmcalister The problem with # of hours is you have hours per day + Setup, and take down. With 0-minimal breaks. It's nowhere near as easy as it looks and on weekends, which is why you pay a good amount per hour.
@Catscollecttcg@MikeysRetro I remember the days it was only $10k a month in overhead. But there's no explaining it on twitter, let alone with 280 characters. These ppl aren't crazy, they just dont know. And it doesn't behoove them to know, because its not what they want.
@patxisanchez They have a new tier system coming. Limit RCQs to higher level stores. When PPTQs started it was advanced or adv+ only. Meaning you had to have run a 32 player event before and some other things. Now, and hole in the wall can run 3. Waste of time to run them now.
@caro_irl Why is it that mtg players always seem to think that the most popular event at the time is/should be a loss leader? It used to be $10 drafts, free standard with prizes, now it's commander. I've just never understood it.
@SaffronOlive Sure, and last year Hasbro also projected 5-7% growth in their Earnings call for 2025*. And we saw how that turned out... Just saying.
*Bottom of page 11.
@LotharHS Well if you look at it with the logic of it makes sense to draw a round to lock in a top 8 to make sure I get to play more rounds, then it's actually allowing you to play more rounds of your CCG not less.
@caro_irl Real answer. Back in the day it was harder for judges to give oracle text responses. Think pre smart phones. And some people don't want to call a judge. It was a stupid edge. Also back then main way to get jpn packs was through t8ing a ptq. So another flex.
@MissouriMTG I'm sorry they didn't enjoy the journey. I have many many lifelong friends from playing competitive magic, and have enjoyed my 20s. The game is different now, but much of that is that I'm different now.
@feb31st And had you looked at this morning's sales on tcgplayer this card was acting weird. The sales spiked early this morning from $40-$55, and there was a sale of 3 of them at $59.95. Then more flooded the market. But when this was posted, he was accurate. But facts are hard right?
