Had France won, one player would have came back with a winners medal.

Now this is a lesson to Kaizer Chiefs, that the signing of our foreign players should be players that are competing at a highest level with their national teams. Leave Bafana alone because we know how the current coach treats our players, playing for Bafana now wouldn't be how you really measure a level of a player based on what we see.

But, In International players, as a big club as Kaizer Chiefs we need to bring in players who know what it means to play at a world's stage. Players who won't crack under pressure, won't be intimidated by crowds & won't show signs of giving up in challenging situations because they're used to competing at a higher level.

One might wonder how did Arsenal win the league, but look at what they've done with their recruitment strategy. They brought in players who make the difference in their own respective countries. This then brings me back to a conversation I had with one of the football experts a couple of days ago. He spoke about what he calls "Negotiation Power". Which our management currently don't have. Why they don't have that? Let's break it down.

In a team of stars, well traveled & quality players, as a club management you tend to hold negotiation power more because these are players that won't just go easily. The buying clubs would have to grind and dig dip to get those stars. E.g. Let's assume you have a Fiston Mayele in your team, when Europeans come with offers, they might think they're offering something huge but when you actually look at what this player is, based on the things he has won in his career with different clubs. Also what the player has achieved with his national team and how important he is in his parent club and national team & how you have invested in him, you have an upper hand to want more, charging based on what he's going to be going forward. And the player himself is not foreign to moving around, there's no panic it's all chilled.

Versus a situation where you have maybe a Msimango (No disrespect to Given I respect him, I just have to make this clear to my readers). A player like Msimango, who doesn't play for a national team, never been outside of SA career wise and all. When Europeans offer their peanuts, as Kaizer Chiefs you will see value in that offer because these peanuts in Euros have turned into close to R20 Million maybe. And you have a player who has never played at a highest level that would die to see Europe on daily basis, earn money in Euros or dollars or anything.

What then happens? You lose negotiation power as a club bcs number one: When you look at the amount you gonna pay Msimango in 2 years maybe was not gonna exceed 4 million but you about to pocket R16 million and a player has never been outside SA, the pressure is piling up as his peers the likes of Yusuf Maart are also in Europe and stuff, then you will not have a choice You have automatically lost negotiation power. Also because if you don't wanna let go of this player, you will be accused of blocking players moves, no matter how important this player is in the team, no matter how hard you still wanted to keep him, but you won't be able to.

This is why then when we go out of the country we must come back with big names. We had more African countries in the World Cup this time around, if you don't really look at yourself as a smaller Club, we should be having at least one Senegalese player that's reported we have interest in. What then happens if you sign him? More eyes are turning on to you from the world and you hold more negotiation power. I mean we are a big club. Kaizer Chiefs doesn't have bad players, but we don't have those capable players of deciding you games any time, any day.
