Jacob was a senior researcher who joined Anthropic in May. My Anthropic colleagues and I had been trying to recruit him for ~2 years, because we knew he was a strong researcher at OpenAI. Before he left, I pitched him to stay and join my team, and I was sad he decided to leave, as are many of my colleagues. 100% agree with him that AI poses serious risks to society, and I'm glad he's speaking out!

LIQUID “WHITE-HAT” HACKERS DEMAND 10% BOUNTY FROM BLOCKSTREAM

The group behind the ~4,000 BTC Liquid exploit has accused Blockstream of spending only $1.5 million, “maybe even 0,” to secure $5 billion in assets.

In a new on-chain message, the hackers demand a 10% bug bounty paid from Blockstream’s own money, warning that refusing would cause holders a 15% loss.

They also say they will publish the private key needed to decrypt their previous conversations with Blockstream.

The message comes after the group returned 3,400 BTC to the Liquid Federation, with roughly 600 BTC remaining unreturned.
