Arsenal aside, can we talk about Sunderland? They are showing their league position isn't a fluke. This is a very, very good Arsenal side that they are pushing all the way. #bbcfootball
Don't worry Liverpool, you probably only have to play Crystal Palace once more this year. What's the record for most defeats to a single side in a season? #bbcfootball
@Eriatha Agreed. Can see why from the referee's angle he gives it, but one view from the other side and its very clear it isn't a penalty. And yet we can't just have one look, we have to have 50!
Arsenal are the second highest scorers in the league and yet accused of being boring. And the criticism feels right! (They are also ridiculously good defensively which, if they do win a trophy, will likely be the reason). #bbcfootball
@LFC_Ireland78 I think its a bit harsh to call Gyokeres a dive. He was absolutely flattened by Pope. The point wasn't that he dived, its that Pope got the ball!
No defending Gabriel though. Very, very weak.
I don't get it. On Sky Sports they conclude that there's no contact, a player threw himself down screaming and that is simulation. And yet then say the referee was wrong to give a free-kick? Surely that makes it right? Or are we saying simulation is no longer a foul? #BBCFootball
Don't worry about it Liverpool. You topped the league stage last year and it wasn't worth it. Go and be somebody elses nightmare team in the second round! #BBCFootball
@Eriatha Or Arsenal are scared of the defending champions! Surely the first thing in a game of this magnitude is "don't lose", especially when you're away?
As a neutral, I'd love Arsenal to be more attacking, but I understand the game plan. Gung-ho gets them beaten 3-0.
Across the seven sets of substitutes Arsenal have made so far this season, I make it that four of them have been because of injury, or 57%. Wonder what the record percentage is... #BBCFootball
Look, we all know that Arsenal are the highest net-spenders this summer to build squad depth, but do they really need to demonstrate it every 15 minutes? This injury run is incredible. #BBCFootball
Looking forward to next summer, in what will be a very hot tournament, England could do worse than having Anderson, Scott, Rice and Wharton sharing the minutes at the base of the midfield. Very impressed so far. #bbcfootball
