Jeongyeon found fame as the lead vocalist of the

Jeongyeon began her career, taking aerobics classes when she was young, and soon developed an interest in singing and dancing! She joined JYP Entertainment in March, 2010, after passing an audition, and trained for 5 years, appearing on the TV reality Sixteen, where the 9 members of TWICE were chosen. She officially debuted as a member of the group with the release of their 1st EP, 'The Story Begins' and its lead single "Like Ooh-Ahh" and the rest is history...

Jeongyeon is also a TV star, famous for co-hosting with her sister the popular TV programme 'Inkigayo' beginning July 2016. This year she appeared in multiple variety shows on TV, including Najeong Driving, Zzimbangz and Game Caterers!
Jeongyeon has won several awards both as a Soloist and member of TWICE! In 2016 she won the Female Rookie Award at the SBS Entertainment Awards (shared with her sister) for MCing Inkigayo and appearing on Law of the Jungle, marking the first solo award for any TWICE member! In Gallup Korea's annual music poll, Jeongyeon was voted one of the top 20 most popular idols in S.Korea for 4 consecutive years from 2016 to 2019 with Nayeon. As part of TWICE, she has greatly contributed to all their wins including 20 MAMA Awards, 12 Golden Disc Awards, 7 Circle Chart Music Awards, and 5 Melon Music Awards! TWICE were the first K-pop girl group to win Best Female Group at MAMA four times! TWICE has also received 3 MTV Europe Music Awards nominations and two MTV Video Music Awards nominations. In 2021, TWICE's 10th EP, 'Taste of Love', hit #1 on the Billboard Top Album Sales chart, becoming the first EP by a girl group to reach this Milestone. It was also the first EP from a girl group to enter the top 10 of the Billboard 200! On March 1, 2023, Twice was awarded the Breakthrough Artist at the 2023 Billboard Women in Music held in Los Angeles, marking the first time a female K-Pop group has ever won the award! Also in 2017, the group received a commendation awarded at the Korean Popular Culture and Arts Awards, hosted by the South Korean Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, for their contribution to popular culture in South Korea and abroad!

Jeongyeon is also a talented actress and is the 2nd TWICE member to enter acting, after Dahyun, in the film 'Recruits: The Movie' (2025)!

This year Jeongyeon also starred on the cover of Elle Korea (November edition) with Tzuyu and their dogs for a heartwarming, pet-inclusive pictorial! This achievement aligns with Jeongyeon's expanding solo pursuits this year, including her acting debut and brand ambassadorships, highlighting her growing influence beyond group activities.

Jeongyeon has consistently demonstrated a commitment to philanthropy, focusing on children's welfare, disability support, and animal rescue. Her efforts often involve direct donations, volunteer work, and fan-driven campaigns, reflecting her role as TWICE's "mom" figure, caring and community-oriented. This year Jeingyeon made a generous donation to the Green Umbrella Children's Foundation (ChildFund Korea) with funds going to Seoul Rehabilitation Hospital, Korea's only public pediatric rehab facility. Jeongyeon visited the hospital for volunteer activities in the season finale. She also joined the "Honor Society" (elite donor group for underprivileged medical aid) in 2025, after her private donation to the Ulsan Fruit of Love/Donggang Hospital, which went towards surgical costs for vulnerable patients.

Jeongyeon's journey so far highlights her as a resilient, multifaceted artist whose contributions extend beyond TWICE, blending vocal prowess, creativity, and perseverance!
