USDA has posted a pic of the devastation to millions of acres of corn in Iowa flattened by the Aug. 10 derecho. Story today - resilient is not an adequate word to describe farmers who feed our nation.
Did you know legend has it that the monarch butterfly was named after King William III of England (William of Orange) by Carl Linnaeus, the father of modern taxonomy? Plant milkweed, the monarch caterpillar's food, and wildflowers so we can say, "Long live the monarch!"

Saturday is World Migratory Bird Day, the perfect day to become a birder by just stepping outside your home. Great activity for kids of all ages too! Pic is a beautiful Baltimore Oriole seen on May 4, 2020. Hopefully, the MLB team will also be on the move this summer!
Find the season ending NCIS episode - The Arizona - to watch. It's an incredibly beautiful tribute to Pearl Harbor veterans and all veterans. Christopher Lloyd plays a Pearl Harbor veteran who wants to be interred with his brothers.
Picture below is the USS Arizona anchor.
Watch our Graphic Novel: "On the Front Lines with Larry Lather" to emphasize the importance of handwashing. Please retweet to spread the word and NOT the germs!

On April 22, Earth Day turns 50. With COVID-19 keeping everyone at home, plan a project now and implement it to celebrate the milestone. Think of planning and then planting a wildflower or veggie garden and/or starting to compost to turn vegetable scraps into nutrient-rich soil.
