informative stats on changes in querying times & responses last couple of years

Not surprising, as everyone's overworked and thinly stretched, but worth keeping in mind to not get too demoralized over slow/rare responses... Breaking in is than ever, but still not impossible

@Coffee_Is_love yea i think it doesn't matter to most agents? they get to their queries when they get to them! send whenever you have time -- or if you're worried, you can always write the email and then schedule it to send after the weekend

@Elaina_Eiser i think fewer comps are prob better than more-but-not-good comps -- their point is to give the agent a reference point for where the book might fit generally? So if you know good comps, they can help! but meh comps prob don't help...

i think you can nudge if it's been 3 months; as long as it's a gentle and polite nudge, no reason for an agent to get mad about it. she might even be able to give you a response or maybe an estimate of where she is in her reading queue

@writes_Sabrina i think if agents req your full, there's an expectation that they'll respond to it eventually (so the 'no reply means no' shouldn't apply if they specifically asked for your full)

3 months seems a safe bet. everyone's swamped.
