If those traits are enough to make Valko a "copy-paste" and recycled then the same standard would have to be applied consistently across the entire roster.

Enemies-to-lovers isn't a Sylus' only thing. It's one of the oldest and most popular romance tropes in fiction.

Predator × prey dynamics are common across dark romance, fantasy, vampire, and werewolf stories.

A beast identity is a broad character archetype, not something exclusive to one character.

A sweet tooth is a personality quirk.

Full moon imagery is a classic supernatural motif.

Wolf/dog symbolism naturally overlaps because they're closely related animals.

Then the more ridiculous and funniest if not the most shallowest and weakest are the following:

Mocaps – Reusing or creating similar poses isn't the same as copying a character's identity. And even so, it's a production or animation criticism.

Trailer lines – Similar wording would need to be shown side-by-side and in CONTEXT. Vague parallels aren't enough.

Fangs – .....oh for fucks sake Fangs?! Fangs are one of the most common visual traits in vampires, wolves, demons, dragons, and supernatural characters.

Scent marking – This is a very common trope in werewolf, omegaverse, beast, and monster romance. Is this game the only fiction you consume? Never heard of those cringy ass Wattpad stories?

Myth outfit – If there are actual design similarities, then critique the design. That still doesn't prove the character as a whole is a copy. And many LI outfits can have the same stupid argument.

You're conflating assets, aesthetics, and tropes with identity.

By that logic, Sylus himself could be described as "recycled" because he also uses familiar romance tropes and archetypes.

The problem is that characters aren't judged by isolated ingredients. They're judged by the combination of those ingredients and how those are executed.

Most of the things you've listed are established romance tropes, dark romantasy archetypes, motifs, or personality quirks. If sharing those elements is enough to call Valko recycled, then the same standard would have labelled Sylus recycled when he released as well.

Characters aren't defined by a checklist of individual tropes. they're defined by how those tropes come together to create a unique personality, story, and role.

The burden of proof matters here.

Saying "Valko has enemies-to-lovers and a beast motif" doesn't prove he's a copy. It shows he shares components with another character. To prove he's actually derivative, you'd have to show that his overall characterization, narrative arc, personality, motivations, dialogue, and relationship dynamic are substantially the same, not just that he occupies a similar genre niche. But we can't do that can we? Because he was never given the same chance DLC 1 and DLC 2 had.

And once more, you're undermining the work done on the character. Who are you to say that when all you do is sit and type? Who are you to say that when you haven't even seen the amount of work done behinf the scenes?
