@cnbcafrica This is the reality. Africa needs to narrow its huge infrastructure gap if it is to actualize the recently rectified treaty. This calls for innovation on capital is raised, and how projects are delivered.
@llsisi@femigbaja Borrowing is not the problem. It is how you borrow (purpose & use) that could lead to problems. You need to borrow smartly; borrowing that is associated with a bankable project and has no recourse to the Govt. Debt cancellation has to be thought of and implemented differently.
@witschinaafrica I think everyone is missing the point. It is not the debt that is unsustainable. It is what being done with the debt that is the problem. For God's sake, $.5 Trillion for Africa is nothing compare to other regions. Africa actually needs more $150 Billion per year to play catch up

@witschinaafrica For Africa, this is an opportunity for institutional investors. If there is a bankable business case for these projects, then they can be funded irrespective China funds. The challenge lies in unwinding the existing funding agreement with China.
@ReutersAfrica Mr. President it will be ill-advised to rescued Eskom using either of those two options. It will be like flushing money into the ocean. The optimal solution is the use of a Hybrid-PPP model. With model, where Govt. would own 49% of a new SPV, and private sector own the other 15%
