@CharlieWaltonMN@frontrowsiets They are most definitely not combo guards.
A combo guard is typically an undersized SG of PG size who lacks playmaking skills or is more scoring centric. Shannon, Green and Evans are SFs first. You probably meant combo forward, which kind of proves the point people are making.
@TylerTalksBall We shouldn't trade either and doing this doesn't improve the team with a projected starting lineup of Ball, Edwards, Green, McDaniels and Gobert. That is a team that would be around the top 5 in team defense with shooting 1 to 4. People are freaking out for no reason.
@CharlieWaltonMN Generally, I would classify any player with SF size...6 foot 6 is SF size and doesn't have the ability to be a secondary ball-handler a SF. If you have that added skill you might have positional flexibility to play both and are a bonus. SF isn't a problem. Backup PF, absolutely!
@YoloSwag69_420@TimGarrisonMN A guy like Bagley is who you would probably use the last spot on, his shooting is a fucking rollercoaster though. I think a guy like Wagner is perhaps what we are looking for as well. Or even more of a 5 who you think can stretch the floor some and log minutes with Rudy to go big
@Pjlecy@TimGarrisonMN Williams needs better shooting consistency, but if he builds on his last couple years he could be a sneaky pick up, but a bit risky and probably redundant to a degree with McDaniels in terms of archetype, but absolutely he could be one of the best guys left that you could afford.
@wolvesdefender1@TimGarrisonMN He has 3/4 Positional flexibility when you get guys like this it covers your ass in the event of injury way better. Preferably our last guy in this scenario would be a PF/C same thing if we keep Anderson instead.
@TimGarrisonMN I would say for one of the two players they sign this is a likely target, I would say for roster balance it probably means we don't keep Kyle Anderson because it is a bit redundant. But in this case you get a connector who can shoot and fits better with what we want to do.
@dortnoktaiki@Camden_Cash No they have room for two minimum contracts and have enough leftover for a 0 year player minimum which also could more likely be used on a prorated minimum contract for a buyout player like we did with Anderson last year.
@Camden_Cash@dortnoktaiki I don't know why they wouldn't? Do you think you can get a starter for Josh Green that will keep the defense and shooting top notch? Probably not. A free Agent SF and/or PF will probably slip to a minimum contract. Plus we still have money for the 15th spot a rookie or buyout.
@seger77729444@happyjoelucky@TwolvesBlog As constructed Green has a very good chance to start for us. High end shooting and elite POA defense. The reason people liked D. White should be the same reason they like Green as it will allow McDaniels the opportunity to float and utilize his elite weak side help instincts.
@happyjoelucky@TwolvesBlog Maybe, but Ball, Edwards, Green, McDaniels and Gobert is a top 5ish defense with great shooting 1 through 4. I don't think there is any urgency to find a PF that doesn't improve on that lineup. Stretching Green would be reckless because it would probably cost the full MLE in 2027
@JakeBru3@TimGarrisonMN I don't really like either of those contracts especially Washington's and I don't think it is better than Ball, Edwards, Green, McDaniels and Gobert. That should be a top 5 defense with shooting from 1-4. I actually think this makes us worse.
@allthingsmn They have one. There should be a PF, other than Kyle Anderson who will slip into a minimum contract and that will round out our roster depending on who it is.
@DaneMooreNBA Dane, I do believe the 15th spot could be filled with a rookie minimum, although that is unlikely and it is probably saved to offer a prorated contract to a buyout candidate later in the year as they did with Anderson.
