On the 8th May many of our students took part in our VE Day celebrations. We had so many wonderful entries into our 'Design a teacup or commemorative medal' competition. It was very difficult to choose the winners! But here they are! Well done to all involved π @ShireOakAcademy
This week, @HistoryWaters has been sharing lessons as part of #HMD2020 to deliver across the academy. They've been focussed on @raymeade82 incredible documentary on the importance of remembrance and the inspiring life and message of Eva Kor π #thepowerofmusic@ShireOakAcademy
Well done to all of our Year 9 students who, this week, have been looking at The Railway People as part of their #HMD2020
lessons. They have enjoyed learning about Eva Kor π
Today they have taken on the challenging task of viewing history through interpreting song lyrics!
I've produced some lessons/activities to be used with the BBC documentary The Railway People, with Raymond Meade and the late Eva Kor, and the same titled album. It's not subject specific. It's been a labour of love!
Feel free to use, share and adapt.
