Amazed it took this long for “larp” to enter the vocab of the general public.
Just saw someone try to use it to describe one of their parents crashing out and it was enough secondhand embarrassment to serve me for the rest of the year. I’m sure there’ll be more to come, sadly.
I watched all of Ilja Dragunov’s matches since his return in one sitting before he lost the belt to Melo and I really do think he’s incredible. I do agree that he has some flaws, just like 98% of all wrestlers ever do, but I see a lot of people discredit him as a whole due to them and I just don’t see it. His series with Carmelo this year was some of the best WWE stuff all year, the Nathan Frazer, Ciampa, Axiom and Sami Zayn matches were all extremely strong and that’s just his body of work in the last year
There’s a group of wrestlers in a weird position, most tourists don’t like them because they are idiots and elitists don’t like em either because they don’t meet their standards (they are also idiots).
Ilja Dragunov is in that group.
talking about different views on wrestling like how they talk about different communist schools of thought “oh your a meltzerist, well i’m a segundacaidia-MattDist”
Terry Funk is the consensus number one greatest wrestler ever according to polls led by the savviest minds in pro wrestling criticism
It’s valid, but idk. There’s something about Dory’s Little Battles that feels like chanko for the soul.

At this point the bit is too funny not to do. I walked into Shake Shack this afternoon and told the cashier that the landscape has completely changed. She thought I meant in horticultural sense so it got awkward. I ordered my chicken sandwich and left promptly afterward. Worth it
Megan Gustafson gets emotional postgame talking about her place in Portland:
"We're a bunch of overlooked players... I've never really been respected as a basketball player until I've gotten here... I'm thankful for this team, this organization. They believe in me."
