@marcuslejeune You can get millions of views with this, but it's too easy and straightforward, what about days of struggle so you can feel a sense of accomplishment?
@dabidoYT That's a really great achievement! Creating your own videos is very different, a really different feeling, also I must say difficult. Looking forward to what you're gonna cook next
I don't know if it's the right way to do it, but I like to separate intros into a few segments (some happen simultaneously):
- 0.5-3 seconds β a visual hook: visuals are processed faster than language. Here they decide subconsciously if their clicking was worth it.
- 0.5-5 seconds β a conscious hook: a verbal, one-sentence hook that sets expectations for the video.
- 3-15 seconds β vibe & premise: this segment should set the tone for the video, as well as give an intro to the video, as well as a tiny bit of context.
- 10-30 seconds β quality & intro: in this segment, the viewer decides if you're able to deliver in an interesting, captivating way, and also gets to know the structure of the video.
- 15-60 seconds β start of the story/video.
Also, I like to have a premise, characters, and stakes in the hook, if possible in one or two sentences, and every word in the hook to execute a function and be necessary
The house builds niche audience is huge.
Renovation, house building, living in a house, living in a trailer house, buying houses for cheap, building a house with a family/couple β all of them have a big audience and a high interest.
Most of the videos are just people building or renovating a house, doing weekly or monthly updates.
The best-performing videos seem to be:
- Timelapse.
- Renovation.
- Complete constructions.
- Building in nature/cozy area.
- Building with your couple/family.
- Buying a cheap, ruined house, renovating it.
Especially videos that don't have a lot of talking, which is accessible to the international audience.
The audience also likes to watch these formats:
- Living a simple life in a village.
- Living a simple life in nature.
- Buying an abandoned house.
- Cheap housing.
The tiny houses format is a trending format too, that appeals to audiences outside the housing niche.
But also, a lot of the videos look repetitive and the same. They have the same architectural style, the same formats, and the same areas in nature where they are built. As you can't innovate or experiment a lot with building or renovating houses, too high of an investment risk.
β This particular video brings together many elements these specific audiences are interested in, while at the same time bringing something new and novel, and making it super accessible by making it short.
If you wanna get a similar amount or more views make a video on:
- Timelapse of.
- Building a tiny house.
- Building it with your family/couple.
- In the mountains of Switzerland or the Netherlands.
- Show a simple life in a village in the mountains of Switzerland or the Netherlands.
Got a bit carried away lol
@viewstats@MarkRober Shorts are indeed OP for getting subscribers, if that's what you care for.
@mogswamp doubled his subscribers from 600k to 1.2M in 3 weeks with this shorts.

Ok, sorry for not posting, I'll start posting more thumbnail psychology and design threads this year π
In my opinion regurgitated info is not a bad thing, as long as it adds value in some way, either by adding more info, or by saving time, for example compiling many pieces of info in one place
This is an interesting one!
I wonder if the reason it worked was because, the original concept had Alex actively holding the bags, in a tank top, which could imply a more hands-on, on field approach. Or that the video more of a on field video.
The second thumbnail shows Alex in an orange suit, while thematic, but less of a hands-on attire, that can be worn by managers, and also doesn't show direct interaction, and has the containers and Alex far apart from each other.
Which all together could suggest that this video is more about business strategy and can be more general, hence more interesting to a wider audience.
In conclusion, the first thumbnail emphasizes the physical aspect of the trash collecting business, and can also be perceived as a "vlog" type of video. While the second one is more likely to be perceived as an conversational or informational video about building such a business.
@jeremiastomeyt true, same! but that's laws of the universe and chaos. can't be 100% in control. also you're doing absolutely amazing than most people!
This is really interesting, love it!
Is it time sensitive? Like does it give lower probability of breakout for ideas that might've done extremely well like 2 years ago, but now wouldn't due to oversaturation?
Also would love to see some predictions vs results if you have more of them! Make a threadπ§΅!
