Such a turn around of emotions today. I played rugby league for many years and as my playing career comes to an end I was feeling lost. I decided to take things to the next stage, I submitted an article to an online RL page and was accepted onto their writing team to cover game
I am currently their only female writer so I can give a new take on the game and focus on the womens game too. I have also enrolled on a refereeing course so I can give something back to the sport. I would have never taken this step if I was still drinking.
I hate November, it’s my dads birthday on the 12th and the anniversary of his passing on the 20th. This month more than any I relied on alcohol to numb myself. I WILL stay sober, I need to find something to fill the void. I have not achieved anything 2day but I will not drink!
This has been the longest time I’ve been alcohol free..
However today has been a bit “MEH” I’ve felt lethargic and I’ve had an anxious feeling in my stomach allday. So I’ve called it a day, 7:45pm and I’m tucked up in bed ready to sleep.. tomorrow is a new day
@soigneaubade Basically I spoke a lot of BS , my partner didn’t like me drinking and tried to help me before I realised I needed help myself, I used to say things in blackout that she tried to control me. She was trying to help and I threw it back in her face all the time
What has been the biggest difference since your sobriety journey started?
Mine is that I don’t wake up with the fear, wondering what I said during blackout
I had a really stressful afternoon and REALLY wanted a beer, I took myself for a swim instead… then my partner took me and our daughter out for pizza to replace the calories I burnt 😂
Good end to what could have been a bad day
