The system creates a fair, competitive, and meaningful college football postseason by combining the importance of conference championships with the integrity of national rankings.

It does this without automatic bids, bloated playoff fields, or meaningless bowl games.

Final Rankings (based on AP/Coaches and computer)

After the regular season ends:
•The playoff committee publishes the final national rankings.
•All teams receive a bye week to rest and prepare.
•These rankings determine every post season matchup including Championship matchups.

This protects the regular season as the most important part of college football, where all games matter.

Each major conference holds a true championship game between the two highest-ranked teams in that league!

If it was this year this is how it would look!

Conference Championships!

•Big Ten:
Ohio State vs Indiana

•SEC:
Georgia vs Ole Miss

•Big 12:
Texas Tech vs BYU

•ACC:
Miami vs Virginia

These four games preserve the tradition and value of conference titles while ensuring only deserving teams play for them.

“Next 8 Teams”
(Ranking-Based, Not Conference-Based)

The next eight highest-ranked teams face off in a national play-in round.

This gives strong non-champions a path into the playoff while keeping the field elite.

If a Group of 5 team finishes ranked around the Top 16, they’re in.

No automatic bids.

Just deserved access based on results.

So, it sure is crazy how many more votes have been cast in last two presidential elections since mail in balloting became the norm. It’s horrible. A normal increase is a few million. I get a big jump for Hillary and Trump as it was a huge change. But the jump from 2016 to 2020 is astronomical! So much fraud. Then dropped in 2024, really! Democrats pay attention your votes don’t matter, the Democrat Machine tells you how to vote and in 2024 didn’t even care about your vote and chose Kamala as your candidate. Talk about Kings, the Dems don’t care about the people!

Here is a system and change to CFP that keeps regular season, Conference Championship, and prevents oversized playoff.

Conclusion of regular season, the final rankings are released and all teams get a bye week before playoff/championship games week 16 teams (play-in week)

The top two ranked teams in each major conference play in a TRUE conference championship game and first round of playoffs! This restores the value to conference titles and makes the regular season matter again and the Power 4 Conference Champions are automatically ranked top 4.

(Using 2025 for Examples)
Example matchups:
Big Ten: Ohio State vs Indiana
SEC: Georgia vs Ole Miss
Big 12: Texas Tech vs BYU
ACC: Miami vs Virginia

The next eight highest-ranked teams play same weekend (no advantages), giving an elite non-conference championship a path into the quarter finals without rewarding undeserving teams and making them play for the final 4 spots. The harder the schedule matters use power ranking and other human rankings together not just BCS committee.

Oregon vs Utah
Texas A&M vs Vanderbilt
Oklahoma vs Texas
Alabama vs Notre Dame

The winning teams are re-ranked into a clean Top 8 for the New Year’s bowl quarterfinals and Bowl championships, each P4 champion is home team and ranked in top 4 and rest ranked below (no matter their previous rank).

Group of 5 teams earn access simply by finishing around the Top 16 — no politics, no automatic bids, just results.

Why it works:
Conference championships matter, Rankings matter, Regular season matters, Fair G5 access, No bloated playoff, No undeserving auto-bids, and Bowl games keep prestige!

It’s simple, competitive, and Keeps Tradition!!

I think it’s better than current playoff system and definitely better than 24 team playoff!!!

When they were scheduled Michigan State, Auburn, VA Tech , Clemson, all were playing good ball, look at the 29 and 30 schedule Notre Dame doesn’t shy away from competition, USC ran from it. Because those teams programs suck doesn’t mean they weren’t better then. Texas and Alabama are scheduled but by then they may suck too. Stop with this, if in ACC the entire schedule would be weaker.
