Let's be clear. Neither team deserved to win. The onus is actually on the home team to be more adventurous, but they were not. That does not excuse our performance, though. You knew how we would set up when the team was announced. We didn't believe we could win.

I can live with Merino starting because he helped us control an excellent midfield, but why not begin with Eze? Why not have that outlet, that spark, that player who can produce a moment of magic?

The only plus today was Mosquera. What a player he is. Which reminds me. Why is the physio giving Saliba the all-clear to play when he was not right? Surely you would put him through a rigorous check. Go and watch him walk in the first minute of the game. You could see something was wrong.
