20 October 1944 | A transport of 1,500 Jews deported from the Theresienstadt ghetto arrived at Auschwitz. After arrival selection, 173 men were registered in the camp (marked with numbers B-13307 – B-13479) and 160 women were kept in the Durchgangslager (transit camp). The remaining 1,158 people were murdered in the gas chamber of crematorium III.

Among the men registered in the camp was Viktor J. Frankl, a psychiatrist and neurologist, the creator of logotherapy. After being placed in the Theresienstadt ghetto, he engaged in a support action, leading a group providing psychological assistance to the newly arrived and those displaying suicidal tendencies.

Upon arriving at Auschwitz II-Birkenau, before entering the so-called "Sauna," where newcomers underwent the camp admission procedure, he had to leave his clothing. He then lost the manuscript of the book "Ärztliche Seelsorge" (Medical Care of the Soul), on which he had been working for many years, hidden in his coat pocket. After a few days at Birkenau, he was transferred to KL Dachau.

He survived & passed away in 1997.

This is why I study the fandom of the Romantic era - there was. Gothic fandom, Byron fandom etc - the ahistorical idea that fandom is a new, or dangerous, or unimportant phenomenon needs countering.
