I know that part of the reason for the guide is to help journalists sound more neutral by avoiding words and phrases with negative connotations but I feel it also makes the writing sound passive. How would you suggest that journalists use the style guide without sacrificing tone

@caitlinherdez I enjoyed reading the @LAist style guide I think the work you are doing is extremely important for the evolution of journalism. My takeaway from reading through the style guide is to take the time to recognize how certain words or phrases can be perceived #csun375
