@Linhith@FixingEducation@KyleB009 Has there been any positive outcome due to this? Very curious what’s happened since his appointment to the position. (Also, did the board want this? Talk to staff about this approach? So many questions I have!!!!!)
@tracyrenee70 Possibly. I left educ in ‘20. Just now going back as a univ supervisor for student teachers. The break was the best. It’s still hard, I’m still trying to dismantle the system, but I’m rested & ready again. No shame in taking a break. There’s lots of ed jobs that aren’t in schools
@DeltaTangoTwin@alicekeeler@usedgov@FLOTUS@POTUS Love this list. Nat’l certs=💯! It would be so much easier to have a teaching license. Teaching is teaching, no material the state in which you live.
@alicekeeler@StaceySAnd Would love to hear feedback on what systemic change looks like to folks in education. It’s a conversation that should have happened during the pandemic, but no better time start than now!
@DonnaProvencher It’s b/c we’re told to “practice like it’s real” & that surprise drill is supposed to ensure the kids know what to do. The psychological impact is real, too. Creating a whole generation of kids w/hypervigilant, stressed out brains.
@LibertyAllUSA Did you know parents already have all the power they need to engage with their child’s schools? I teach about parent rights & would gladly assist your organization in being able to identify all the ways in which parents can thoughtfully & respectfully support education RIGHT NOW!
On October 12 in Columbus OH, 36 year old Krieg Butler Sr. stopped his truck, got out & shot 13 year old Sinzae Reed in the back multiple times, killing him. Then he got back in his truck and drove away. The murderer is a free man today.
@thefakepresremo @libyourbestlife @EliSeeney There are programs that help you get your teaching degree quickly & with support. Sub teachers also high in demand!
@DrJohnHhess This started for me with the 1st infection in 2020. Reinfected 2 weeks ago-& it’s just getting worse. And my doc dismissed it then & wont even discuss now 🤷🏻♀️
Some mornings are inspiring, and as a child of East Kansas City this was one of them.
Today, we cut the ribbon on WeDevelopment Credit Union, a Black-owned and Black-led credit union at 31st and Prospect, offering loans, investment, and revitalization to the core of our city.
@heymrsbond @izzie_yizzie Frmr admin here--if I could do it over, I'd have moved BTS PD to a virtual webinar. Let Ts use that time to listen to the *mandatory stuff* & still be in their classrooms setting up, getting prepared. Then reconnect as a group for something social; refreshing. It's possible.
Some educators are the “cool teacher” simply because they are naturally cool people. Their ability to connect well with students is not fake, forced, or phony, it’s just them.
