I'm proud to author the Fully Fund Our Future Act.
Instead of spending our hard-earned tax-dollars on welfare for the wealthy through a private school voucher scam, we should invest in ALL students and FULLY FUND our local schools.
Our children deserve nothing less.

@GregAbbott_TX@TPPF "Texas has an obligation to provide the best possible education for each child."
Hmmm, that right there is a great statement, Guv.
So glad to hear you're going to adequately fund our public schools. Can't wait to hear your plan!

Yes, in the 88th the Senate extracted $ for TEA instead of the classroom w/138 new FTEs & a fleet of cars.
A $75/student increase is pitiful when they need $1100 to deal w/inflation & $4000/student to reach natl average.
True to form SB 2 adds more TEA FTEs

If vouchers are passed, at 5% usage, @dallasschools could lose up to $58,981,941.50, and @grandprairieisd could lose up to $11,289,969.25.
Vouchers are a scam that will take away money from our neighborhood public schools. We must fight back against vouchers! #txlege#txed
📣HAPPENING TOMORROW: Your Central Texas House Democrat Delegation will be having a press conference alongside Central Texas superintendents to discuss the negative impact vouchers would have in our public schools.

No. TX didn’t support students w/special needs. No other program in education is more underfunded in TX than Special Education. TEA says Special Education deficit is $2.3 Billion each year. It’s irresponsible to divert $ to private schools when we don’t fund our public schools.
As #txed students head back to school today, they may be anxious about the new school year. Here are some tips for parents to help support their child’s mental health needs. You can find more resources here: https://t.co/hL1uaT2QKx
School begins for @AustinISD on 8/14! Be careful driving on roadways near our schools. Children are crossing the street in school zones and may not be aware of car traffic.
"The tax-cut proposal put forth by Democrats also would boost the state’s basic allotment ... by $1,000. That would translate to a “permanent” $4,300 pay bump for teachers, Bryant said." #txed#txlege#justfundit https://t.co/awveSX1LVC via @TexasTribune
