Wanting good art and good work to be SEEN by people. REAL audiences that will talk about it, breathe it for weeks consistently, find new things to love about it as the decades go by, where new people can come in and be just as talked about as the icons before them
Bones and all didn't do well at the box office. And he put his own money into that film. It was the FIRST film he did that for. KNOWING it probably won't even do well. And to this day he has said he's proud of it. And has never called it a risk cuz to him it was a success.
The truth about Chalamet is he probably will be one of the greats. Marty Supreme showed us that, unfortunately, to be great-- you have to be like that. Chalamet just had the misfortunate of being born during the social media era. And not many greats have been.
