Famuyiwa Matthew, a prosecutor with the Ogun State Police Command, has been accused of tampering with and removing crucial evidence from a criminal case of assault.

Matthew's failure to present crucial evidence that was available denied the victim of a violent crime justice.👇🏾

Adetunji Babatunde, a man who was arrested on Thursday by officers from the Police Response Unit of the Osun State Police Command, was forced to pay N70,000 before he could be released.

Yesterday, we hosted delegates from the National Human Rights Commission (@NhrcNigeria) at our Abuja office for an engagement on advancing press freedom, human rights, and the protection of journalists.

Discussions focused on shared objectives in strengthening coordination on the documentation and reporting of press freedom violations, improving safe and accessible mechanisms for journalists to report violations, and deepening public awareness on safeguarding civic space and democratic freedoms.

We look forward to doing work with our partners at @NhrcNigeria as we collectively advance efforts to safeguard press freedom, uphold human rights, and strengthen democracy in West Africa.

Dotun Oloyede, the managing director of real estate and investment company Rolad Properties, issued a farmer a N11.8 million cheque in August 2025 that was rejected as a 'fake' at the bank.
