It is not about getting rights through Haka and Dabke, it is about keeping traditions and rituals alive. There is such a powerful healing function in what Indigenous nations carry, from the past into the present, and who are we to judge? Plus I have never thought of Palestinians or Mahori expecting to liberate themselves through "dances or songs" but if those dances and songs is what allow them to garner collective strength or simply express themselves, and us - non Indigenous- to see and hear their self-determination struggle, may their dance shake the ground, may their chants be a tunder.
