🇺🇳 I thanked António Guterres for his leadership of the United Nations through an exceptionally difficult decade.

We also spoke about reform. I believe reform is necessary but it cannot become an excuse for something more fundamental.

The UN can only work if its members respect the Charter, use diplomacy seriously and take responsibility for preventing conflicts before they turn into wars.

Sometimes the problem is not that the rules are missing. It is that we have stopped following them.
