🛑 VCDefensa Rabid Responder Harasses ICE Agent Over His Rifle 🛑
A VCDefensa Rabid Responder in Ventura County is seen harassing an ICE agent and getting upset about the agent's rifle.
VCDefensa is infamous in Ventura, California. Leo Martinez, a lead organizer, has said the group has been able to "change how ICE operates fundamentally" in the county and even bragged about kicking them out of neighborhoods in a video I posted.
Organizers patrol neighborhoods looking for ICE vehicles, then alert the surrounding community with a bullhorn or a whistle once agents are spotted. Martinez was detained on Oct. 16, 2025 after following unmarked ICE vehicles during an Oxnard operation. Federal agents later searched his Ventura County home in May 2026.
Ventura County is 22.2% foreign-born, according to Census Bureau ACS figures for 2020-2024. California has about 2.3 million illegal aliens, the most of any state, per Pew Research Center's 2023 estimate. State law under SB 54 limits local cooperation with ICE, and FAIR puts the annual cost of illegal immigration to California taxpayers at about $30.9 billion.
Here's hoping U.S. Attorney Bill Essayli (@USAttyEssayli) indicts Leo Martinez and any VCDefensa members who have collaborated to impede and obstruct ICE operations in the area. Impeding federal officers can be charged under 18 U.S.C. 111.
